Start business selling embroidering items

I need to know if I need an ohio federal tax id #? Also I wanted to know if I need a vendors license. I will be embroidering baby items and selling them. Starting new business, should I be incorporated or not. No employees, home based, may sell on internet.

Some states required sole proprietor to file their federal tax Id number; however, some states don't. If you sell taxable items, every states required you to have the vendors license aka seller's permit or Sales Tax permit. It is a voluntary if you want to incorporate. If you incorporate your business you can protect your personal asset if their is a lawsuit. For every business you have, the law required you to have a business license and also DBA.
